• Tics: An Important Diagnostic Tool?
Are you familiar with Tourette Syndrome and how it is diagnosed? The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) reports that Tourette Syndrome is an inherited, neurological disorder characterized by involuntary movements (called motor tics), and uncontrollable vocalizations (called vocal or phonic tics). A tic is defined as a sudden rapid, recurrent, non-rhythmic, stereotyped motor movement or vocalization. Read more

• Salmonella Outbreak
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently reported on an ongoing multi-state outbreak of salmonella serotype Saintpaul infection. Investigations by the Texas and New Mexico Departments of Health, and the Indian Health Service have identified that consumption of raw Roma or red round tomatoes is most likely the source. Read more
